9. Be careful not to worship the artist. We need to be careful not to worship the artist nor what they have created, instead we must allow chosen gifted people to help us cultivate and develop the heart of worship.
10. Praise is not singing to one another. Praise must be done to the Lord, our song must focus unto God, we could sing to one another and welcome one another to the family of Christ, but when we come to the real season of praise and worship we must sing to the Lord. Exo 15:11 Act 16:25.
11. Praise is not singing choruses to warm up. Singing praise is not for warming up in the service, it is about God and what he has done, what is doing and what he will do, some people will say let’s sing some choruses to warm up this atmosphere that is dull, this supposed to be a serious business with our maker not an exercises, the holy spirit in us is there to charge the atmosphere when we praise and worship God, the praises of Jehovah is more than singing a few choruses or many choruses to warm up the atmosphere and the people, is to connect the heaven and appreciate our maker.
12. Praise and worship is not a bribe. “Who shall ascend into the hill of the Lord or who shall stand in His holy place? He that hath clean hands and a pure heart; who hath not lifted up his soul unto vanity, nor sworn deceitfully. Lord who shall abide in thy tabernacle? Who shall dwell in thy holy hill? He that walketh uprightly, and worketh righteousness and speaketh the truth in his heart…….”Ps 24:3-4, 15:1-5, your praise is not a bribery to get your way to the presence of God, you are not dealing with the earthly king here whereby you can bribe your way to the presence of the king or to his bed room, when you meet the requirement of Ps 24:3-4 then you can proceed by entering the gate with thanksgiving and also go further to His courts with praise, there is a saying that the people used to say that you can pray amiss but you cannot praise God amiss this is wrong, as you can pray amiss so also you can praise God amiss, the acceptability of praise and worship is more in the quality of life that offers the praise than the quantity of praise and worship that’s offered (Gen4:5-7), you cannot come into the presence of God with your heart fill with sin, your praise cannot bribe God, your praise is not a passport or passage to God’s presence with your sin, unpurified lips cannot praise and worship God (Zeph 3:9), you can offer no worship wholly pleasing to God if you know that you are harboring elements in your life that are displeasing to Him. “Well then, should we keep on sinning so that God can show us more and more kindness and forgiveness?” Rom 6:1-2
